📍 Janesville, WI – Quality / Calibration Technician

A safety lesson I learned in the Marines that has always stayed with me is always be aware of your surroundings & don’t get complacent. Stay vigilant, stay alive.

A strong safety culture is built on trust & accountability. When people know their teammates have their back, they can focus on their responsibilities with greater confidence. Looking out for one another goes beyond policies; it’s a mindset that protects lives & builds a stronger, more resilient team.

My safety advice is this: failing to prepare is preparing to fail. Have the proper PPE & be aware of your surroundings before starting any task. These two habits can protect not only you, but everyone working around you.

I spent five years learning from a true master that had welded for USAF and NASA. What I enjoy most about welding is the challenge. The higher the difficulty the more I like it.

The hardest thing to learn when you start welding is patience. Don't beat yourself up. Every mistake is a lesson. It’s hard work, and it takes time to master. What makes someone successful in welding is the ability to handle problems without melting down. It’s about staying calm, staying focused, and never giving up.

We had the pleasure of welcoming our Commercial Team to our Janesville, WI facility for an engaging and collaborative 3-day meeting!

The team spent time reviewing industry trends and strengthening alignment and strategy. They also showed their appreciation by serving lunch to all three shifts at the Janesville facility, as a thank you for their hard work and partnership that help drive our success every day.

One highlight of the week was a team-building event at University of Wisconsin–Madison through the Adventure Learning Programs (ALPs). It was a great opportunity to strengthen communication, trust, and collaboration outside of the workplace.

The visit concluded with an insightful roundtable discussion with our executive leadership team, creating valuable conversations and shared perspectives across the organization.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the week productive, meaningful, and memorable!

I got into welding because I wanted to be like my dad. I knew welding was the right choice for me when others started asking for help, wanting to learn techniques I had picked up along the way. The hardest thing to learn when you start is consistency.

If you're getting into welding, here’s my advice: Be prepared for it to humble you. But stick with it. Time and effort will bring results. To be successful you must be open to change. It’s about adapting and growing with the craft.

Since day one, safety has been a priority for me. The size of our products makes me take extra precautions because a small mistake can quickly become something severe. One habit I never skip is a pre-task check. Taking a moment to pause and mentally walk through each step before jumping into the task has made a big difference in how I work.

I’ve learned that the same habits that prevent injuries also improve quality. When we work safely and follow procedures, we naturally make fewer mistakes. Safety isn’t just about protecting ourselves; safety is about doing the job right every time.
