Pre-Mow Checklist from Hunter at Preferred Equipment
Hunter explains a few important things to check before you start mowing. These simple steps can prevent breakdowns and keep your mower running reliably all season.

Here’s the Pre-Mow Checklist:
✅ Oil Level — Check the dipstick and make sure it’s between the marks or at the two dots. Add oil if it’s low.
✅ Air Filter — Ensure it’s clean with no grass, debris, or pinholes. A damaged filter can let dirt into the engine.
✅ Belts & Pulleys (on riding mowers) — Look for cracks, dry rot, or anything stuck in the spindles or PTO area.
✅ Battery Connections — Give them a wiggle to confirm they’re tight. Loose connections can cause electrical issues.

Taking a few minutes for these checks makes a big difference!
