Infinity EDM & Machining is adopting a new enterprise resource planning system (ERP) this month. For our customers, that means automated notifications at key milestones — from RFQ receipt through shipment confirmation — without having to follow up to find out where things stand.

Our services, capabilities, and team aren't changing. This is an investment in the back end of the customer experience: consistent communication, fewer gaps, and a more transparent view of your work as it moves through our facility.

We published a new piece on the Infinity EDM blog today, and yes, the title is exactly what you think it is.

"Let's talk about tolerances, baby; let's talk about you and me..."

Beyond the joke: it's a short read on something most engineers already know but prints don't always reflect - that tolerances should communicate functional intent, not just geometry. Coordinate tolerancing is fast and familiar, but it says nothing about how a part actually behaves in use. GD&T exists to fix that, and when it's used well, parts get cheaper to make without giving anything up.

We see this every day on the shop floor. The prints that work best are the ones where the tolerances reflect real design decisions — tight where the application demands it, relaxed where it doesn't.

Nick Stephens, one of our EDM drillers and a senior at Slinger High School, has earned a spot at the Wisconsin High School Powerlifting Association State Championships this Friday, March 7th. Qualifying for states in powerlifting is no small feat — it takes months of disciplined training, real strength, and the kind of mental toughness that doesn't show up on a leaderboard until meet day.

We're proud to have Nick on our team, and we'll be rooting for him in Appleton.

Wire EDM machines may look simple from the outside — a wire, a tank of water, and a part. But what most people don't see is everything that has to be working perfectly for that wire to hold a tolerance measured in ten-thousandths of an inch.

Guides wear. Filters clog. Dielectric fluid loses its properties. Flushing nozzles get fouled. Any one of those issues, left unchecked, quietly shifts your dimensions before you ever see it in the part.

At Infinity EDM and Machining, maintenance isn't a checkbox — it's the reason our customers can count on us to hit spec on the first cut. Staying ahead of wear isn't optional. It's the job.

In speed skating, the difference between gold and silver can be 0.003 seconds. In our manufacturing world, the difference between a good part and scrap can be 0.0005".
