Price held really steady through February up until the last couple weeks. We closed the month with a Midwest Average of $2.43 per pound, which was $0.01 per pound higher than prior month. Unfortunately, the climb at the end of the month as well as the conflict in Iran has dictated that March will probably close at least $0.10 or more higher based on early trend indicators.

Aluminum price rose again through the month of January finishing with a Midwest Average of $2.42 per pound (rounded 2 places) which is $0.22 per pound higher than prior month. The aluminum trading market continues to drive an increased price on this commodity.

Happy New Year to all! Prices continue to climb to begin 2026 with an increase of $0.04 per pound in December over prior month's Midwest Average price. LME went up a little, but we are still seeing the Midwest Premium price elevate the overall price of aluminum. To begin the month of January we are looking at a $.13 per pound increase for next month as well.

The LME average in November was up a little over October, but we saw a bigger increase once again in the Midwest Premium which drives the Midwest Average price. To close the month of November we were up $0.08 per pound (rounded two places) on the published Midwest Average. December begins slightly up in price as well, so we will wait and see what happens as far as raw material pricing is concerned as the month progresses.

We are continuing to see the upward trend in the price for raw aluminum through both the LME and the Midwest Premium with no real indication of price trending downward in the immediate future. The Midwest Average closed the month of October at $2.08 per pound (rounded two places) which is up $0.14 per pound over prior month.

The LME price, as well as the Midwest Premium, increased through the month of September leading to a $0.05 per pound increase in the Midwest Average. Price for aluminum extrusions continues to stay elevated and it is anticipated to remain high at least through the beginning of 2026.

We did not see the major increases in price through the month of August that we have seen the prior couple of months, but the Midwest Average price did increase $0.03 per pound, leading to a closing number of $1.89 per pound (rounded two places).

Price for aluminum extrusions continues an upward climb due to the continued high price of the Midwest Premium which is driving a very high Midwest Average. The month of July closed with a Midwest Average of $1.86 per pound (rounded two places) which was $0.14 per pound higher than prior month.
