Congratulations to our very own Curt Vorpahl, as he retired today! Curt started at Willer Tool in 1989, amassing nearly 36 years as a Toolmaker and Sinker EDM Operator. Thank you for the decades of friendship and dedication. Enjoy your retirement on the lake!

Machine install update!

Scroll through the pictures to see where we stand today as well as what we’ve been up to since unloading the machine one week ago. The install is an extensive process that requires precision every step of the way.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of our employees, Chris Marx.

Chris began working at Willer Tool in 1994 and became a highly skilled CNC Machinist and Toolmaker over the years. He would have been celebrating his 30th work anniversary next month. We will miss his sense of humor and forever cherish the friendships that were created over the years.

Our prayers are with Chris’s family and friends during this extremely difficult time.

‼️Our new machine is ready to go! ‼️

The final testing and installation of our new bridge mill was completed today. After a little employee training, we can start to load our tooling and make some chips! We can’t wait to put it to use. Our mill features a robust working surface of 157” x 86” and features right-angle and Z-extension heads that interchange and tool change automatically. We will have some action shots in the next couple of weeks to share, so stay tuned!

We are making good headway on our new machine installation. The main casting is secured to the foundation and the install team is currently working on installing guarding, setting up the tool changers, and ensuring the machine is level and square. We should be up and running in the next couple of weeks and can’t wait to share some action shots of it making chips!

We were happy to attend the Manufacturing & Trade Career Expo last week at the Washington County Fairgrounds. Thanks to the Germantown Chamber of Commerce and The Chamber of Greater Menomonee Falls and Sussex for putting on the event. We had many great conversations throughout the two day event!

Congratulations are in order for Mike Spuhler, who is retiring from full-time work after spending a little over 29 years at Willer Tool! Mike is a skilled CNC Machinist and CNC Programmer and we are happy that he is continuing to work a couple days a week part-time. We enjoyed a delicious lunch catered by Barbecue Company Grill and Catering and cake by Delicately Delicious! Congratulations, Mike!
