We are looking for an experienced Project Manager for a Small Structural, Ornamental and Miscellaneous Steel company. Our main office is located in Island Park, Nassau County, and we have a secondary location in Midtown Manhattan.
Candidates should have a minimum of five (5) years experience managing Small Structural, Ornamental and Miscellaneous Steel Construction projects. THERE IS NO TRAINING WITH THIS POSITION, PLEASE NO TIME WASTERS.
Responsibilities of the Project Manager for Small Structural, Ornamental and Miscellaneous Steel
Drive and manage all aspects of the project from material procurement through to fabrication and installation. Work with estimator and management team to digest and understand project scope and intent, budget, logistics, and schedule.
Manage change orders and schedule shop fabrication on each job. Interface and collaborate with field workers as well as CM/GC site supervisors and PMs to review logistics, troubleshoot as-built conditions, and direct work flow.
Create purchase orders, log change orders, submit pencil requisitions, review construction documents, request and review shop drawings, attend project meetings, submit RFIs, schedule deliveries, maintain project files; review project progress with management team.
Oversee various projects concurrently.
Interact daily with engineers, project managers, architects, site supervisors, foremen, and clients.
Requirements of the Project Manager for Small Structural, Ornamental and Miscellaneous Steel
Must have experience working with renovations within confines of an existing building
Must be able to Field measure extensively and work with surveyors.
Must have OSHA 30 card
Exemplary organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and strong follow through.
Demonstrated sense of urgency with experience in taking initiative and ownership over projects.
Strong working knowledge of construction documents, building components, contract management, project document control, and experience working within a team.
