What does it mean to keep showing up, even after the war is over?
Today, we observe Veterans Day, which began as Armistice Day, marking the end of World War I on November 11, 1918. ๐บ๐ธ
Unlike Memorial Day, which honors the fallen, Veterans Day also celebrates the living: those who served in war or peace, and came home carrying more than they left with.
Many veterans today carry invisible burdens, like chronic illness from burn pits, PTSD that's forever changed how they see the world, and other quiet sacrifices made long after the uniform is folded away. ๐๏ธ
And yet, they keep showing up. For their families. For their communities. For a country that doesnโt always see the whole story.
We owe them more than recognition.
To all veterans, weโre grateful for your courage, your sacrifice, and your unwavering sense of duty. Thank you. ๐
