More equipment shouldn't mean more ways to manage power.

Power HIVE brings batteries, charging, power distribution, and status monitoring into one man-portable hub. It supports up to six BB-2590s, accepts AC and DC input, and keeps the load powered while batteries are charging or being swapped.

Power HIVE brings external AC/DC power and up to six BB-2590 batteries into one mission power node for radios and other tactical equipment.

It manages available power, prioritizes connected loads, and delivers regulated 28 VDC with up to 1.5 kW of managed output. It automatically transitions between external and battery power, and supports battery replacement without interrupting the supported load.

Paired with Merlin Handheld+, Power HIVE supplies an AN/PRC-163 through the radio adapter.

We built a ROIC emulator to test SOTIRA™ Focal Plane Interface Electronics before connecting the ROIC.

It lets engineers verify power rails, load handling, and overvoltage protection, then run loopback image data and bit-error-rate testing across the full data path.

Forty years ago, Iris Technology was building tactical systems for the field. Now we build for the field and for space.

That didn't happen because someone drew up a five-year plan. It happened because the engineering problems kept changing, and solving them pulled us into new disciplines and eventually into aerospace as a second industry.

Our Distillery program has been part of that process: an internal space where engineers develop early-stage ideas outside a specific program or contract.

Today, we opened our third building in Irvine. Almost 100 people now work across Tactical and Aerospace, with a lot more room to build, test, and work through problems together.
