As Blomquist Architects transitions to leadership under its third generation, we are using the opportunity to re-establish our core philosophy & evolve the way we provide service to our clients. We are looking to add a talented license-track designer or junior Architect with a strong sense of purpose to help us write the next chapter of our practice.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Joining a small team of Architects, applicants must be versatile and capable of leading projects from initial client introduction to construction completion. For this reason, applicants must be able to communicate ideas effectively; must be well-versed in both design and constructability; must be proficient in 3D modeling and presentation software; must be experienced with construction documentation; and, must be able to interact with clients and contractors.

Although each member is expected to lead their assigned projects, no project is completed in a vacuum. Blomquist Architects maintains a flexible and collaborative studio environment in which ideas are shared freely and vetted candidly. Applicants must be able to except constructive criticism and will be expected to provide the same to their peers.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree in Architecture (M.Arch) preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in the Architectural field.
• Experience developing construction documents essential.
• Specification writing experience preferred.
• Fluency in 3D modeling & rendering using SketchUp.
• Proficiency in documentation using REVIT & AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative and Microsoft Office software suites.

STUDIO CULTURE

• Have a voice: Be part of a small team, lead projects, and establish your design philosophy.
• Define the culture: Guide the direction and growth of a boutique firm with an established reputation of excellence.
• Work flexibly: Keep regular office hours but complete your work on your schedule.
• Contribute to your community: Be encouraged to volunteer your talents, even during office hours.

And when it came to choosing a location, we couldn’t think of a better place to be than in the heart of downtown. Beginning in May, our new office in the historic Stephenson Court building at South Stephenson & Brown will connect us to the city in new ways, as we seek to reinvent the way we work – to push the boundaries of design, challenge conventions, and create positive change in Iron Mountain and beyond.
