You all have had me busy. It's definitely a challenge to do the assessments, the work, and the paperwork and stay ahead. I currently have a list of potential work assessments to go and look at. I appreciate everybody's patience. I try to go as first come, first serve as much as I can. However, sometimes I need to prioritize damage and possible damage ahead of routine work. I will be taking some time this beautiful Sunday to try to meet up with some of you and assess your trees and see how I can best help you. Thank you for trusting me with your homes and properties!

Today we took care of some storm damaged trees for Sunset Resort down on the Ash River Trail. I forgot to take during or after photos but one tree, A large Aspen, was uprooted and fell on a pole barn. The other had 2 Balsams that broke off and hung up into another large Balsam that was starting to Crack and uproot because of the extra weight and leaning over a permanent resident camper. All got removed safetly and prevented further damage.

Today marks 6 months since my accident.

I'm happy to report that things have mostly been going well and I am getting back on my feet (pun intended). I thought things have been tough and far too slow, but after talking with others with injuries of the same nature, I've come to realize that my hard work and drive to get back out there has put me far ahead of where I should or could be. This community sure keeps me busy and I'm here for it.

Some days are rougher that others. Especially after a heavy loaded day of work. But I will persevere and be here to bring my knowledge and skills to help with your tree issues!

During the first few months of my recovery, you all showed me so much love and support and helped me and my family in a time of need. We appreciate and thank you more than we could ever express. This kindness has not been forgotten and will be paid forward to others in need.

I look forward to having the opportunity to help more and more of you in the upcoming months and years. I have the best returning customers as well. I am grateful for you all.

Happy Memorial Day weekend and thank you all again:

Today with this wind, it made for some difficult working conditions. We managed to deal with the removal a large spread Box Elder that was over a garage and had about 11 different wires running through it at different angles. Then onto another extra large Box Elder with a very large, dead limb that was broken off and laying on a house roof and power wire. We got the limb removed and will continue on with the full Removal on Monday. My phone was almost as busy as I was, whew. If you reached out, be patient. I'm doing my best trying to get to everybody that tried to call or message today. There was quite a few, I suspect the wind has people nervous and I understand that. I'm going to get some rest and will be back at it, as soon as I can be!

I have a good list of trees lined up for removal. A lot of big trees and precarious situations. An unfortunate aspect of this work is the weather and it has not been in our favor this spring. Tree climbing is already dangerous enough but, with these high winds we've been having, some jobs just have to be put on the back burner for another day. I apologize to those that are waiting. I refuse to put myself or my team in danger and I'm also not going to put your property in harms way. A lot of the trees we deal with are large and have defects of some sort. Cut limbs hanging by ropes in the wind over your home is just a recipe for disaster. Of course, there are always emergency situations and we're here for those

One thing that I cannot stress enough. If you're thinking about having a tree removed and you feel that you can handle part of the removal process yourself to save some money but need somebody for the part over your house, or power lines, or fence, etc. Please reach out before removing any section of the tree. A lot of times, one part of a tree will be used to remove another part using ropes and specialized rigging techniques and other equipment. It then makes the process more difficult and dangerous. In general, it won't save any money and sometimes it could cost even more and delay the work due to needing a different plan, crew or equipment.

Good evening, Icebox Nation. I just wanted to give a little updated and show a little gratitude to all of the kind souls out there that have helped in the many ways that you have. We appreciate you all more than I'll ever be able to express. Unfortunately, we are not out of the woods on this journey of ours yet and could still use some help with the day to day living necessities to get through.

I had my next check up on Friday. They were very happy with my healing progress and X-rays. I had some swelling yet that concerned them and got the OK to start working on ankle and toe movements a few times through the day. I also got switched from my brace to a walking boot. I am not to be putting weight or pressure on it yet. In 2 weeks I can slowly start reintroducing weight on it and progress into walking on it while using crutches. I am still unable to return to work with the earliest possibility being in a month. However, they were sure to tell me that that was more or less wishful thinking.

I cannot wait to get back into your trees this spring. I'll be coming back stronger and more determined than ever with a freshened importance on safety.

Again, I thank you all. For the donations. For the cards and messages. The help around the house. We wouldn't have made it this far in this setback without your help. Thank you, from the Drewes family!
