Soooo.... This past race weekend at Laguna was awesome. The track is bad ass, and the environment is bad ass as well. First time I've gotten to race in perfect weather. I was a little slow to learn the track but it was fun doing it. We lost the transmission in Saturdays qual race, Luckily one of my neighbors had one which i bought off him. Stayed up late and got the new trans in. Because of our bad finish on Saturday we ended up in a very bad start position. 32nd, which was second to last. It might have been a blessing since there was a major wreck in lap one that I would have most likely been a part of and narrowly escaped as you can see around min 3:30 in the video. Make sure you watch that frame by frame, real time doesn't do the kaos justice. About 2/3rds into the race i finally got my rhythm going and made some good passes. Finished 20th. Thanks to all the help from friends and family. We only have one race left in the season.
P.S. For all the car people out there, make sure you make at least one pilgrimage to this track. Enjoy the Vid...

Alrighty boys and girls. I haven't posted much about the recent races because they were super ruff and the results weren't worth talking about. I blew up my differential 2 races ago at california speedway on the first day which ended that weekend. Then at the last event at buttonwillow we lost a cam sensor during a qualifying race, and then after making up a bunch of spots during the race the car decided to over heat (in the cars defense it was over 105 deegrees out. The only good to come out of all of this, is that i no longer have a provisional license and my rookie status is no more. So i spent the last month making upgrades and prepping the car for our championships this weekend at Mazda Laguna Seca. I've never been to Laguna Seca, and I've never competed in a race of this caliber. Needless to say I'm excited, I'm gona get to check something off the top of the bucket list. There will be live timing at https://racehero.io/orgs/nasa , and there will also be a live video stream of the race at https://livestream.com/nasa/ .
Spec miata is group B and the race should start at 9:35am on sunday aug 2nd.
Here is a pic of Blue 92, so you know who to root for, hopefully i don't end up in the back of the field :)
Wish me luck.

Differential has been fixed, and we're packing up for our race this weekend at buttonwillow. My first time running it counter clockwise, so I get to learn a new track. I'm also entered in two classes this weekend, hoping to improve my race craft, which I think I might regret, especially since the temp is gona be over 100 for the entire weekend. Wish me luck.

Soooo... weekend was going pretty damn good, qualified 17th out of a 37 car field, and I wasn't able to get a draft partner, so my outlook for the race was pretty good. First lap was kaos but I managed to pick up a few spots in the melee. On lap 3 the differential grenaded itself to smithereens. Internally and externally. Anyways I couldn't find one locally. So I called it a weekend. :(

As some of you may know already Haddad Motorsports is all but closed.

However it lives on as a race team!!!
Our first season starts this Saturday at Big Willow. We are competing in spec miata and have quite a few other classes that freinds who we support and support us, who will be competing as well will be supporting us. Please come out and cheer us on or bring your ride and get involved in some HPDE (high performance driver education) sessions. Who knows I might be your instructor :)
We have a race about once a month so if you can't make this one there will be other opportunities. Next race is at buttonwillow.
