HG Metals

HG Metals Specializing in Structural and Miscellaneous Metals Fabrication and Installation. HG METALS builds railing systems for all applications.

Furnishing various steel and metal products for construction of commercial, industrial, and large residential facilities. Stairs and Railing

HG METALS builds interior and exterior staircases, both utility and ornamental, using steel and/or other metal. We build from the Customer’s architectural design and engineering specifications. Our most popular stair product incorporates concrete-filled pan

s for treads and picket railing; however, we have experience producing any combination of stair stringer and tread, with railings of any design. Design is typically determined by the Client’s architect; and may include a high degree of customization. However, our Sales Team can assist by providing standard options that may meet a Customer’s need. Structural Steel Fabrication

HG METALS furnishes and erects the steel columns, beams, and special structures that permit the mounting of masonry for typical commercial elevations. Our experience with low-rise commercial and multi-unit apartment buildings is extensive. We furnish the steel structural underpinning for elevator shafts, including the hoist beam. We furnish platforms for elevating heavy MEP units and other utilities. We furnish small components, in high-volume or small order. These are embeds, structural connectors, and lintels. We furnish steel joists and decking for commercial roofs. Specialty Products

HG METALS builds specialty items of all sorts. Some items simply must be made of steel. Steel delivers strength and durability. We build the special-purpose, one-of-a-kind items based on the Customer’s need and from the Customer’s design. Our fabricators can replicate an existing steel item. Or we can modify to improve your item’s function and/or appearance.

🔩 When the Design Gets Complicated, HG Metals Gets to Work.

Some projects are straightforward. Others are built to challenge you — and HG Metals is always up for a challenge. 💪

Take a look at these intricate stairs and rails fabricated and installed for Taylor University. From the sweeping curves and multiple levels to the detailed rail system, this project required precision, craftsmanship, and a team capable of turning a complex design into reality.

Projects like this are a great reminder that steel doesn't have to be ordinary. It can be functional, strong, and a standout architectural feature all at the same time.

At HG Metals, we don't shy away from the complicated projects.

Challenging design? Unique fabrication? Difficult steel package? Send it our way. 🔩🏗️

💬 What catches your eye first on this project — the staircase or the rails?

🔩 YOU SEE STEEL EVERY DAY… BUT DO YOU NOTICE IT? 👀

Here’s a challenge from HG Metals:

Take a look around you right now. Steel is probably closer than you think.

🏗️ The building you’re standing in
🏟️ The stadium you cheer in
🏥 The hospital in your community
🪜 The stairs you climb
🔩 The rails you grab
🌉 The bridges you drive across

Behind those finished structures are fabricators, welders, installers, detailers, project managers and countless skilled hands turning raw steel into something built to last.

So today, we want to have a little fun…

👇 NAME SOMETHING MADE WITH STEEL — but you CAN’T repeat an answer already in the comments!

Think you can stump us? 😏

And here's the second challenge:

👥 TAG someone who works in construction, welding, manufacturing or the skilled trades. Let’s get more people talking about the work that goes into building the world around us!

Follow HG Metals for project throwbacks, behind-the-scenes fabrication, steel trivia, industry news and a whole lot more steel. 🔥

🏗️ WHAT’S NEXT FOR INDIANAPOLIS? 👀

If you work in construction, you’ve probably noticed it — Indianapolis is BUILDING.

From downtown to the airport and throughout Central Indiana, there are some major projects taking shape, with even more on the horizon.

🏨 The Signia by Hilton & Indiana Convention Center expansion is moving toward completion, bringing a 38-story hotel and expanded convention space downtown.

✈️ The new Westin at Indianapolis International Airport has officially topped out, with the hotel expected to open by the end of 2027.

🏥 The massive IU Health downtown hospital campus continues to rise, transforming approximately 44 acres on the north side of downtown.

🏙️ And projects like the Georgia Street redevelopment, Traction Yards, new downtown hotels and additional mixed-use developments mean there is plenty more construction ahead.

For those of us in the steel and construction industries, it’s exciting to watch our city continue to grow.

🔥 Now we want to hear from our construction community:

What upcoming Indianapolis-area project are YOU most excited about — or what project should be on everyone’s radar right now?

👇 Drop the project name in the comments. We may feature some of them in an upcoming post!

Indianapolis is growing. Let’s keep building. 🏗️

🏗️ FROM THE GROUND UP — LOOK HOW FAR THIS PROJECT HAS COME!

Since 2023, HG Metals has had the opportunity to be part of the team helping bring the Indiana Convention Center Hotel project to life in downtown Indianapolis.

And what a transformation it has been. 👏

From the early stages of construction to watching the building rise and the skyline change, these progress photos tell a story that you just don’t get to see when you only look at the finished product.

Projects of this size take years of planning, coordination, fabrication, installation, problem-solving and teamwork — and we’re proud to see HG Metals’ work become part of a project that will leave its mark on Indianapolis for years to come.

🎥 Watch the progress from then ➡️ now!

Now we want to hear from you:

👇 Which stage of the transformation impressed you the most?

And if you’ve been downtown watching this project take shape, tell us — when did you first realize just how massive it was going to be?

We’re proud of the progress, proud of our team, and excited to keep building. 💪🔩

Have a Division 5 project coming up? Send us your plans and let’s build something great together.

NEW MONTH. MORE STEEL. LET’S BUILD.

08/28/2026

🏗️ DID YOU KNOW? 🏗️

Steel doesn’t have to be brand new to be strong. In fact, steel is one of the most recycled materials in the world! ♻️

Steel can be recycled again and again while retaining its key properties—which means steel from an old building, bridge, vehicle, or appliance can eventually find its way into something completely new.

At HG Metals, we get to see what steel can become every day—from beams and stairs to rails and custom-fabricated pieces that help bring a project to life. 🔩🔥

💬 HERE’S THE CHALLENGE: Look around you right now. How many things can you spot that are made from steel?

Drop your number in the comments! 👇 We want to see who can find the most.

Built strong. Built to last. Built with steel.
