Our friends over at Operational Speed Supply stopped by yesterday to show off their latest project car: a 2002 Camaro built to handle the extreme conditions of the Hot Rod Power Tour! Codenamed “Dagger”, this build showcases the strengths and durability of the 4th gen F-Body platform with tasteful modifications and a reliance on Red Line Synthetic Oil.
The main goal of Project Dagger is to build a well-rounded street car that can hold its own on the track. To accomplish this, Dagger relied on help from BMR’s Subframe Connectors, Torque Arm, Panhard Rod, and LCA Brackets in addition to Viking Performance, Inc. Berserker Coilovers and an OSS Big Brake Kit with Wilwood Disc Brakes 4-piston Calipers. OSS then rounded out the build with WELD Racing Laguna wheels and Vitour brand tires, creating a race car with street manners and impressive track capability all rolled up into one.
Dagger just returned from its first test: a 1,600-mile round trip from Tampa, FL to Drive AutoXtreme in Bowling Green, KY, and back. It did exactly what it was meant to do, holding its own mid-field throughout the event and proving that, for its first outing, only a few more adjustments are needed before it can start chasing podium finishes. The debut of its stunning livery from Graphic Effects, LLC also proves that if this car doesn’t give you whiplash from its performance, its looks will.
We look forward to seeing Dagger get dialed-in for the Hot Rod Power Tour, and we wish OSS luck at this demanding event! Stay tuned for updates as this crew tackles the challenge!
