For close to four decades we have been producing Tungsten Alloys and Tungsten Composite materials of the highest quality. We were founded out of the P.R. Mallory Company, the inventors of the

Duracell battery, with the primary focus of making tungsten metals. Our full service machine shop is capable of supplying finished Machined Tungsten Components to your engineering specifications. Our capabilities include grinding, turning and milling. We also have CMM equipment to validate that parts meet required dimensions and tolerances. .Our Indianapolis, IN facility is both ISO9001 and AS9100 Certified.

The UTILITY ASSOCIATE safely and efficiently operates grinder, tumbler, straightener, and saws to produce parts in accordance with instructions on the production document. Maintains a clean, well organized work area. Uses precision measuring instruments to check dimensions of parts to assure finished parts conform to specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Assure paperwork is accurate and document work.

Notify supervisor if machinery is not operating effectively.

Assure that safety precautions are observed at all times including the use of safety glasses, safety shoes, ear protection (if applicable) and machine guards.

Knowledge of and training in ISO9001:2000/AS9100 standard procedures and MTTM Quality Policy.

Additional duties as assigned by management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

Basic mechanical aptitude (testing involved).

High school diploma or GED equivalent

1 to 3 years related experience running production equipment in a manufacturing environment

Ability to pass a background check and drug screen

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Ability to communicate appropriately with Managers, Supervisors and peers in a professional manner

Uses good judgment in decisions regarding process and problem solving.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment. Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Ability to position self to move, install/takeout, adjust, position, measure, and handle materials weighing up to 70 pounds.

Ability to work an off shift.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Follow relevant MTTM procedures and the MTTM Quality Policy

Complete in-process and final inspection

Perform tensile testing of powder metallurgy specimen

Characterize tungsten powder and input results into a database

Stamp, label, and wrap product to customer requirements

Assist with data input

Adhere to all Safety Policies established by MTTM.

Complete additional duties as assigned by MTTM management

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent

Related experience in a manufacturing or inspection environment

Enthusiasm and independence to complete tasks without micromanagement

Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years’ experience inspecting product or working in a material lab

Review material/equipment requirements as designated by MTM Traveler

As an operator training to be provided on each machine to specific work instructions for machine operations and adjustments.

Training to be provided for safety awareness, specifically about use of shims stock and dangers of using wrong materials, poor placement of shims and over tonnage as these can all result in damage to tools, machine as well as bodily injury.

Must have intimate knowledge of work instructions for setting up various types of dies in use as well as selection or calculations needed for safety stops (shims)

Must be able to or trained to use calipers, micrometers, tape measure as well as scales to weight parts.

Perform in-process inspection and regular spot checks of pressed parts per instructions on in-process inspection sheets provided with each job packet.

Maintain integrity of powder lots when selecting to use for setting up jobs. Critical to review and make sure all identification matches prior to using.

Identification of product when storing on press racks per work instruction

Be organized and clean at workstation

Repetitive lifting of 15+ pounds during shift

Stooping or standing during most of shift

High Ambient Working Temperature

Complete additional duties as assigned by MTTM management

Related experience in a manufacturing environment

Responsible for manufacturing and machining parts to print specification or to instructions prescribed on MTM Traveler

Prepare, maintain, and operate appropriate machinery

Setting up milling machines and positioning workpieces

Machining workpieces manually

Checking that finished workpieces meet all specified dimensions and tolerances

Performing routine maintenance on milling machines and tools

Deburring machine surfaces as required

Supervisor Responsibilities

Hiring and training of the maintenance department staff

Conducts performance evaluations

Handles employee disciplinary actions and terminations in accordance with company policy

Review department needs for time needed to perform tasks and alters staffing as required

Responsibilities and Duties:

Oversees the day to day operations of the maintenance department

Evaluates facilities to determine maintenance repairs needed & schedule the work

Develops maintenance procedures and schedules

Ensure maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner

Reviews projects needs and orders supply parts for projects as well as for potential break downs.

Assists purchase of new and used equipment to ensure we have no unexpected or anticipated costs over runs.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent

5 years as a Maintenance supervisor

Preferred Qualifications:

HVAC certified

CMRP certification

Extensive knowledge of plumbing and electrical and hydraulic systems

Extensive knowledge of PLC’s and programming logic

Extensive knowledge of OSHA hazardous Materials, electrical standards, fall protection, lock out tag out as well as occupational health and safety standards for industry.

• After furnace cycle is complete, prepare parts for forwarding to next operation per instructions on MTM Traveler • Additional duties as assigned by MTM management

Must be able to read a variety of hand measuring tools as well as indicator on a height stand

Must be capable of adjusting machine operating parameters to maintain tight tolerance and part finishes

Must be able to grind work blades
