👁️ Training Without Barriers 🦻

At MEDiSURG, we believe every healthcare professional deserves access to exceptional training, and we're committed to adapting our programs to meet the unique needs of every student.

Last week, we had the privilege of welcoming James Miller to our five-day, hands-on Alcon Centurion® and Constellation® Preventive Maintenance & Service Training in Indianapolis.

James is hearing impaired, having lost approximately 90% of his hearing. While he communicates using American Sign Language, he is also an excellent lip reader. Because no one on our training team is fluent in sign language, we developed an approach to ensure he received the same high-quality learning experience as every other participant.

For James's training, MEDiSURG implemented:

💥 Real-time talk-to-text captioning throughout the course

💥 Captioned training presentations and instructional materials

💥 Clear, direct face-to-face communication to support lip reading

💥 Personalized instruction to ensure every concept was fully understood

The result was a successful training experience where James was able to confidently learn the preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and service procedures covered throughout the course.
