Today marks the one year anniversary of the passing of our founder, my father, Steve Lashley. He started EuroCampers in 1997, shipping orders from our living room at night after spending all day working his corporate job. He loved VWs, and owned many over the years. One time someone showed up in our small hometown Hardees to ask if anyone knew where the “VW guy” lived. He was given directions to our house.

My dad loved what he did for a living so much that when he was released from the hospital after his first stem cell transplant, he came into work even before heading home. He loved sharing his knowledge of vans, and he loved problem solving, which is probably where I learned to love problem solving as well.

He grew EuroCampers from a part time VW hobby to a full time business importing and distributing accessories for lots of vans all over North America. I don’t like to think of it like he is gone; I prefer to think I’m just running things for him while he is away.

To honor his memory EuroCampers is making a donation to our local food pantry, one of his favorite causes.
