Job Title: Lead Fitter – Structural Steel Fabrication
Location: Ider, AL

About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Lead Fitter to join our shop team. This role is critical in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our fabricated steel components. You’ll lead fitting operations, interpret drawings, and work closely with welders and supervisors to meet project deadlines and standards.

Responsibilities
• Read and interpret structural steel drawings and blueprints.
• Fit and tack-weld steel components according to specifications and shop drawings.
• Lead and mentor other fitters and shop personnel.
• Ensure quality control and adherence to safety standards.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to resolve issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in structural steel fitting.
• Ability to read and understand complex fabrication drawings.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Proficient in using fitting tools, measuring devices, and layout techniques.
• Familiarity with welding processes and shop safety protocols.
