📣 Important Announcement – Gen 1 Raptor Shock Exchange Program Ending January 1st, 2026
To our TSW Offroad community,
After almost a decade of supporting the Gen 1 platform, we need to share an important update. Effective January 1st, 2026, TSW Offroad will be discontinuing the Gen 1 Raptor Shock Exchange Program ONLY, not the send in or local instalations.
This decision is being made to protect our customers, our quality standards, and the integrity of the work we deliver. Unfortunately, the exchange program has become unsustainable for several major reasons:
Why the Gen 1 Exchange Program Is Ending
• Aging, inferior, and heavily worn Gen 1 shocks – These shocks are now almost 15 years old. The majority of cores arriving have rust, pitting, damaged shafts, weakened bodies, or internal wear that prevents us from rebuilding them to the standard we require.
• Cosmetically good shocks are nearly impossible to source – High-grade, clean Gen 1 shocks simply don’t exist in large quantities anymore. Maintaining an inventory of premium shocks for exchange has become unrealistic.
• Widespread mis-grading and dishonesty – A large number of customers have knowingly misrepresented the condition of their shocks, marking them as “A” or “B” grade when they arrive with severe rust, swollen bodies or damage far outside acceptable limits.
Many customers were trying to receive better-looking shocks than they were honestly sending back. Over time, this has made the program impossible to keep fair, balanced, or sustainable which has destroyed our lead time.
• Lack of usable cores has caused unrealistic lead times – Because so few acceptable shocks are being returned, we cannot replenish inventory fast enough. This has led to extended and unrealistic lead times that we do not feel comfortable continuing to operate under.
If we can't deliver on time and at our standard, we will not continue the program.
• Maintenance intervals repeatedly ignored – Many Gen 1 shocks are being sent in after years of overdue service. By that point, internal components are damaged or completely unusable.
• Deposit deductions have increased significantly – Due to neglect, mis-grading, and unusable parts, deposit deductions have become more frequent and larger.
This results in customers frustrated with reduced refunds and us frustrated with unsalvageable shocks and increased losses.
This system is no longer healthy for either party.
This decision is ultimately about one thing: protecting our customers and protecting the quality of what we stand behind.
If we cannot confidently put our name on an exchanged shock, we will not ship it.
✅ Gen 1 Owners — What Will Continue
We are NOT discontinuing Gen 1 support.
TSW Offroad will still offer:
• In-house, same-day / drive-thru rebuilds
• Send-in rebuilds on customer-owned Gen 1 shocks
Only the exchange program is ending — not our support for Gen 1 owners.
🚫 What Is Not Changing
Our Gen 2 and Gen 3 Raptor Shock Exchange Programs remain fully active and unchanged.
Those generations still allow for consistent inventory, accurate grading, and quality control that meets our standards.
We appreciate everyone who participated honestly in the program over the years. Ending the Gen 1 exchange program ensures we can continue delivering the safest, most reliable, and highest-quality suspension work for the entire Raptor community — without compromise.
If you have questions or need support with your Raptor shocks, we’re here and ready to help.
