Does it hurt the motor if the fan just spins in the wind?

👉 Yes! It can take out the start switch. We have the Fan Jammer for centrifugal bin fans to prevent this from happening! Just with a slight breeze these will turn in the wind. All day every day.

Meet Jim. He had his own electric motor shop in WI for 40+ years before recently selling and retiring. Jim has been Dan’s mentor for the last ten years.

Jim is who we called, often daily, in those first few years. Electric motor work is a unique trade. They don’t teach it at trade schools in their electrician courses and it’s not something you can learn overnight. Freddie’s Electric Motor wouldn’t be what it is today without Jim.
