Sigmatech is proud to announce the appointment of LTG (Ret) Thomas “Tom” James as Strategic Space Advisor at Huntsville, AL.

Tom brings extensive senior leadership experience directly aligned with his new role at Sigmatech. Most recently serving as Deputy Commander of U.S. Space Command, he acted as a trusted agent to the Combatant Commander, leading an organization of over 18,000 personnel delivering global satellite capabilities and defending those capabilities from adversarial threats. Previously, as Commander of the Combined Joint Space Operations Task Force and Joint Task Force–Space Defense, Tom led the planning and ex*****on of military space operations, established operational constructs for space defense, and developed foundational approaches to orbital warfare in support of protecting critical space-based capabilities.

Tom is a seasoned defense space executive, strategic problem solver, and change agent with decades of leadership across the national security space enterprise. He commanded Joint Task Force–Space Defense, where he established a multi-disciplinary organization integrating military, intelligence, and interagency partners to create operational frameworks for orbital warfare and space domain defense. He also led the Combined Joint Space Operations Task Force, advancing operational planning for military space operations and shaping future organizational constructs to enhance U.S. competitive advantage. As Deputy Commander of U.S. Space Command, he oversaw global satellite mission assurance, guided experimentation and innovation initiatives, and championed the integration of data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning into operational decision-making. Throughout his career, Tom has built collaborative partnerships across combatant commands, international allies, government agencies, industry, and academia to solve complex strategic challenges.

Tom completed the Harvard Senior Executive Fellowship at Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He holds a Master of Science in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Air, Cyber, and Space War College; a Master of International Relations from Auburn University at Montgomery; a Master of Science and Art in the Application of Air and Space Power from the School of Air and Space Power Studies; and a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Southern Mississippi. His career includes leading large organizations, managing significant resources, and pioneering operational concepts that shaped modern space defense and orbital warfare doctrine.

Sigmatech is proud to announce the appointment of Mike Angle as Senior Vice President of the Space Central Division at Sigmatech Headquarters.
A retired U.S. Air Force Colonel and career space officer, Mike brings more than 30 years of leadership experience across space operations, missile defense, joint warfighting, and the defense industry. In this role, he will lead strategic growth, strengthen customer engagement, and advance mission-focused solutions supporting U.S. Space Command (USSPACECOM), missile defense modernization, and integrated multi-domain operations.
Prior to joining Sigmatech, Mike served as Vice President for Missile Defense Agency and Navy Business Development at Astrion, where he led enterprise growth strategies aligned with national defense priorities and served as a senior executive interface with government and industry partners. He also held senior leadership roles at LinQuest, directly supporting USSPACECOM headquarters with strategic planning, policy, and international engagement.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Mississippi and an MBA from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, along with extensive joint and professional military education.

Mr. Carver previously served as Sigmatech’s CEO/President from 2018 through 2023 before stepping down and serving as Cepeda Systems & Software Analysis’s (Cepeda) President, where he led Cepeda’s engineering and technology services focusing on Department of War (DoW), Space (NASA MSFC), and Process Improvement.
Don brings decades of Government and Industry experience across multiple organizations to include Missile and Space Intelligence Center, USA Space and Missile Defense Command, PEO STRI, USA SMDC, MDA, AvMC, AMC, PEO AVN and PEO M&S.
Mr. Carver graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical Engineering. He is a member of the Army Acquisition Corp, and is Acquisition Level III certified.
