- TEI working with local area kids on the Hillcroft Connect Community project.

The City of Houston, Houston Freedmen's Town Conservancy, and TEI Planning + Design were honored to receive the 2025 Gold Award in Advancing Diversity and Social Change from the APA Houston Section.

This recognition reflects a meaningful project milestone that balances forward progress with respect for the long-standing history and voices of the Fourth Ward community in Houston.

This project was also supported by Asakura Robinson, Huitt-Zollars, Inc.-Zollars, and Jones Archaeology.

Incoming APA Houston Chapter President, Chelsea Young, AICP, also shared the chapter’s goals and upcoming initiatives for the 2026 season.
