At Hahn & Clay, our Horizontal Boring Mill capacity continues to grow to meet the demands of large-scale machining projects.

We currently operate 6 Horizontal Boring Mills, with a 7th — and our largest yet — on the way. Our largest current machine features:

• 8” spindle capacity

• 12’ vertical movement

• 30’ table travel

• 20’ between headstock and tailstock

This vessel came to us with challenges that required extensive evaluation and repair planning along the way. From complex machining work and critical weld repairs to the installation of a new liner, our team worked through each phase carefully to bring this unit back to life.

Projects like this are a reminder that experience, adaptability, and craftsmanship matter — especially when working on older equipment where every step can uncover something new.

Now, after a challenging process, this vessel is nearing shipment and heading back out as a stronger, more reliable product for the customer.
