We are super proud of this KA SOHC project. We have done wild VG VQ RB and SR builds, but this was our first time to really flex on our skills on the KA.
The ECU took some tricks, we used a DOHC 16 bit ecu with a Nistune type 3 rom board with a v1 feature pack. We had to do this as we wanted flex fuel and Nistune did not support flexfuel on the SOHC ECUS. With the feature pack we also have launch control. We had to re-clock the Hall effect wheel in the SOHC dizzy until it was synced to the SOHC engine DE ecu. The now Nistuned ECU gets its Flex fuel content raito signal from a ECA sensor inline on the system. This car is a true flex fuel vehicle and can run on any ratio from 93 octane to e100.
Mods are as followed: CP Pistons, Eagle rods, ARP Head and Main hardware, Nistune with Houston Z Advanced Flex Fuel, Innovate ECF-1, Walbro 485, ID850 Injectors, Turbonetics TNX 30/52, Custom Houston Z downpipe to HKS Hi-Power exhaust, 5-Lug conversion, Z32 brake upgrade with Stainless Steel lines, Competition Clutch White Bunny kit, Tein Street Flex Coilovers, SPL Control Arms, Z32 diff, Houston Z Full Flow Oil Cooler, 1pc Driveshaft, Nismo motor and trans mounts, Widened Nissan OEM S14 wheels, and Bridgestone Potenza RE-11's.
