On their farm named "The Gifts", Ronald and Noelia (pictured in the next image) produce yellow and red Catuai and a small amount of Ethiosar in Las Nubes - the clouds - because it is literally a cloud forest. Low lying clouds keep Ronald and Noelia's coffee cool, slowing the maturation process and allowing the beans to absorb more sugars. Given the amount of care that they put into their coffee, it is no surprise that their microlot is of excellent quality as as you can see in the coffee’s nitrogen-rich deep green and well-cared-for leaves.
They have eleven children: Efren Jonatan, Lesther David, Rolan Jose, Evert Joel, Mario Francisco, Jesús Manuel, Jorbin Antonio, Noelia Guadalupe, Leonel Vladimir, Oiman Antonio, and Eyner Omar. They also have a cow, pigs, rabbits, and raise chicks for meat to sell to the community.
Gold Mountain Coffee Growers is a social enterprise that, in addition to its own farm, works directly with specialty coffee producers in Nicaragua to connect them with roasters abroad, like Cadenza. It obtains higher prices for producers with high quality coffee while carrying out sustainable development projects in communities, including free computing classes for girls, medical assistance (such as an operation for a young girl so she could walk for the first time), microcredit, running water in schools, and educational supplies.
