Shipping Container Conspiracy... WTF... this is disheartening... No wonder we have been having trouble sourcing containers for our customers!! We specialize in manufacturing and building out shipping containers for anything that our customers might need in their lifting operations on the high seas. Offices, Controll Rooms, Equipment Rooms, Data Centers, etc. Shipping containers fall under the offshore DNV lifting standard 2.7-1. Like any equipment skid, the container must adhere to the strict lifting requirements as set out by the DNV. DNV 2.7-1, this is the primary global standard for offshore freight containers, cargo baskets, and general CCUs (Cargo Carrying Units) handled in open seas. I wonder if the DNV surveyors that witness our builds were aware of this. They never said anything to us! What a shame...

The process is heavily dependant upon our relationships with DNV surveyors and the weld inspections during construction. This is one of many reasons that the DNV 2.7-1 certification is such a long process. Weld inspections are just one of the steps in the 2.7-1 standards that cover the specific areas of design, manufacturing, testing, certification, and periodic Milestone inspections. This new type of is called Local Electron-Beam Welding could remove that bottleneck and get customers projects completed faster. "Not only does this reduce the need for weld-inspections, because the weld-join replicates the parent material, but it could also dramatically speed up the roll-out of SMR reactors across the UK and beyond, that’s how disruptive the LEBW breakthrough is."
