Houston Performance Solutions – Hiring 2 Full-Time Technicians
We're looking to add two experienced technicians to our team at Houston Performance Solutions in Houston, TX.
We specialize in late-model GM performance, from basic bolt-ons and cam packages to complete 1,600+ HP builds. Some cars come in for a few upgrades, while others get completely torn down and rebuilt from front to back. There's not much we won't tackle.
We're looking for two different levels of experience, but both positions require a solid mechanical background and the ability to put out quality work.
Position 1 – Experienced GM Performance Technician
For this position, we're looking for someone who has spent several years working professionally in a GM performance shop and knows the LS/LT platform inside and out.
You should be capable of taking on a complete build from start to finish, including engine removal and installation, assembling engines from completed short blocks, heads/cam packages, supercharger systems, advanced fuel systems, wiring, drivetrain upgrades, and diagnostics.
We regularly work with high-horsepower combinations that require more involved fuel systems, including Fore Innovations setups, port injection, and other supporting modifications.
You need to understand how components work together, know what needs to be measured or checked during assembly, and be able to recognize potential problems before they become bigger issues.
We're looking for someone we can hand a complete build to and trust that it will be done correctly. We'll get you familiar with how we do things at HPS, but the technical knowledge and experience need to already be there.
Position 2 – Automotive / Performance Technician
We're also looking for a technician with a strong mechanical background who is comfortable handling common performance upgrades and general mechanical work.
This includes bolt-on modifications, basic camshaft packages, auxiliary fuel systems, supercharger installations, suspension, exhaust, cooling systems, and component removal and installation.
You should be comfortable taking a vehicle apart and putting it back together correctly, have a good understanding of how things work mechanically, and be capable of completing jobs within your experience level without constant supervision.
Previous GM performance experience is preferred but not required. If you've spent years working on other platforms and have the mechanical ability, we're willing to get you familiar with ours.
