How Easy Are Prairie Dog Boring Machines to Maintain and Repair?
Equipment downtime can be costly, especially when a machine has to be shipped to a specialty repair center or wait on a proprietary part.
Prairie Dog boring machines are designed with serviceability in mind. A mechanically capable owner or technician should be able to handle most routine repairs in the field, in a shop, or even in a well-equipped garage.
Common service items include:
Chains
Sprockets
Bearings
Water swivel assemblies
Advance mechanism components
Clutch adjustments
Other common wear parts
Many of these components are standard, nonproprietary parts that may be available the same day from local bearing-supply or power-transmission suppliers.
Prairie Dog also stocks replacement parts for its machines and provides a parts manual with every machine. Manuals are available online, and customers can call for help identifying parts by description, part number, or even a photo sent by text.
Honda engines are known for straightforward maintenance, and the transmissions used on the 900TW, 1200TW, and 1800TW are extremely durable. In most cases, they require only routine oil changes and occasional clutch adjustment.
Prairie Dog machines also include a one-year limited warranty for the original purchaser, subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the operator manual.
Our goal is simple: build dependable machines that customers can understand, maintain, and keep working.
