When your son is the customer and he has warped weld fixtures and say make them flat and add a stiffener frame. These are the times you are glad you purchased and assembled that HC&D fixture table kit.

Finally got a chance to assemble our new shop tool supplied by Hammer Concepts and Designs. I have started laying out the first wishbone on the Jig. First impressions is this wishbone assembly jig is going to make fabricating wishbones a breeze. If you have a chassis shop and don't already have one of these fixtures, contact Hammer Concepts and Designs and get one on order.

In case you ever wondered if we provide support on our one off pieces, the answer is yes. We had to design and manufacture these chrome moly plates for a removable transmission crossmember for a customer project a couple of years back. The customer is having another shop closer to his home base build a new crossmember for a different transmission combination. Aaron dusted off the dfx file, loaded up the chrome moly plate and let the CNC plasma table do its job. Parts are cleaned up, inspected and headed out UPS two days after we were requested to provide an additional set for the project.

The process of fitting bars into Mike Creasey's Chevy II continues. We have the back half outlined and just lack fitting in the shock crossmember and gusset bars. Between Thursday afternoon and Friday we designed, bent and fit the forward/ A-pillar bars. Yesterday ,Paula and I located and cut the holes through the dash board and firewall for the front end down tube bars and figured out the fish mouth setup for the intersection to the A-pillar bars. And per the request, the glove box door is still functional.

This week's project includes, the windshield bar and bending the actual front end down tube bars, plus forming and installing a channel over the original front sub frame so we have a secure location to land the under floor board cross bars for the front of the A-pillar bars to weld too.

I am not sure what I was thinking when I decided to add chassis work back into the shop's work flow. It is very rewarding to see the end results but very painful when you realize the number of hours that goes into each bar.

Finally getting a chance to see what one of our HRC fabricated housing looks like with a set of HC&D four link housing brackets installed. There are still a few more steps to get completed on the housing before it will be ready to go under Mike Creasey's Chevy II but I think it will make for a really nice set up.

Now that we are getting back into some more reasonable temperatures we are back on racecar fabrication work in the shop. Patrick is finishing up the side exit header tunnels on the 4th Gen Camaro. Aaron has modeled up the tunnels, plasma cut and formed the first tunnel.

I am back on fitting tubes in the Chevy II project in the mornings. Slowly making progress but we are moving forward.

It is a very rewarding feeling after you put so many hours into a project, to receive pictures of the housing under the car and the note saying it all fit and "Nice Work". This housing was a complete build, started with a Quarter-Max weld up housing kit, custom one-off housing brackets, custom one-off billet shock mount sliders and a lot of TIG welding. We topped the housing off with a set of Moser 40 spline gun drilled axles with Profiled fl**ge and 5/8" drive stud kit and a Strange Engineering Pro Race brake kit. A special thanks to Cody Wiggins for trusting us to supply the housing for the new build.

Looks like it is going to be a busy holiday weekend in the shop. Time to finish up the Quarter-Max housing for a local customers winter build and then back on Mike Creasey's Chevy II project. We finished up bending a chrome-moly four lower four link cross- member with 6" forward offset for the main hoop. We have it roughly fitted into the chassis, so time to final fit the cross member and start on the main hoop. Then to strap his HRC housing to the HC&D PRO 9 table to install the back brace and start fitting the HC&D four link brackets. Did I mention it is going to be a busy start to 2024.

One of today's projects that we are making some progress on. We worked with a customer that needed a ladder bar housing bracket designed that offered a low mount shock option. So, I figured if we are needing to extend the bracket that low, let's add in some of the standard features of a four link bracket. This setup gets tube gussets, 1-1/2" cross bar with 1" tube gussets, lower shock mount slider block with 5/8" adjustments, pro jack lift points and anti roll bar link mounts. First sample piece off the plasma table to check bolt hole clearances.

A quick post for our friends that like to follow along with what is happening at the shop.

We have been working on some update projects on Robert Hollingsworth's four Gen Camaro. The header combination he will be running with this combination requires more engine bay clearance so are installing one of our rear facing brake pedal / master cylinder mounting kits. To make room for this pedal / master cylinder system, we had to relocate the knee bar to a higher point in the chassis plus build a new steering column. We did a driver fit test today and can now start wrapping up the work on those projects and start the firewall header tunnels to allow for the side exit headers.

We are just about done with the teardown work on Mike Creasey's Chevy II for the ladder bar to four link chassis conversion. Hoping to start fitting tubing back into the chassis this week.

On the rear end housing for the local customers 65 El Camino, we have the back brace fitted and partially welded to the Quarter fabricated housing and we are starting the finish design and manufacturing work on the ladder bar housing brackets.

Lots to do in a short amount of time. It is going to be a very busy December at the Precision Mechanical Solutions, LLC / Hanrahan Performance Products shop.
