Each trip to our store is always a treasure hunt and you can be assured that every purchase helps us to support the Appomattox Regional Library System (ARLS). Today is Ada Lovelace Day. Ada Lovelace published the first algorithm intended for machine processing (an algorithm for calculating Bernoulli numbers) and foresaw that computers could manipulate symbols and create art or music. Ada Lovelace Day celebrates the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Did you know that the Appomattox Regional Library System has STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) programing for kids? Who knows? The next Ada Lovelace might discover their passion for science and technology at their local library!
