DDC will begin curb ramp improvements across ‘Aiea, Makiki, Mānoa, Kaimukī, and Kailua starting May 26, 2026, with work running on weekdays from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm through October 2027.
Work includes replacing sidewalks, curb ramps, and related pavement improvements. Expect lane shifts and delays—please drive with caution, follow all traffic signs and Special Duty Officers, and consider alternate routes.

Starting Monday, May 18 - July 31, traffic modifications for the North Kalāheo Avenue Bridge rehabilitation project will be implemented:
🔄 CONTRAFLOW (alternating one-lane, both directions):
• Mon–Thu: 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
• Fri: 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
➡️ KĀNE'OHE-BOUND ONLY (Kailua-bound traffic detoured):
• Mon–Thu: 5:31 p.m. – 7:29 a.m.
• Fri: 12:00 a.m. – 7:29 a.m.
✅ WEEKENDS & HOLIDAYS: Normal two-way, two-lane travel

🚧 Traffic Advisory –
The North Kalāheo Avenue Bridge No. 445 rehabilitation project over Kawainui Canal is progressing on schedule. Beginning Monday, May 11, 2026, a new traffic phase will take effect to support safe construction activities.

During weekdays, the Kailua-bound lane will be closed continuously from Monday 8:30 a.m. through Friday 3:30 p.m. One lane will remain open for Kāneʻohe-bound traffic only, and Kailua-bound traffic will be detoured during closure periods. Normal two-way traffic will resume on weekends and holidays.

Drivers should expect delays, allow extra travel time, and follow all posted signs and traffic control personnel.

➡️ Mon 8:30 a.m. – Fri 3:30 p.m.: Kāneʻohe-bound only

Schedule: Weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The lot will remain open, but up to 8 parking stalls may be temporarily closed at a time as crews conduct excavations at multiple locations.
🚧 What to expect:
• Temporary closures at Aulike St. and Maluniu Ave. entrances/exits
• Traffic adjustments to accommodate work zones
• Possible temporary closure of one vehicle entrance (at least one will remain open at all times)
Alternate parking is available at 25 Aulike Street.
