While most any pathogen given the right circumstances can become airborne and contaminate nearby surfaces, I argue that we neglect the eventual larger worry about excessive exposure to chemical pesticides.

In our attempt to decontaminate surfaces if not the air in an indoor facility, we run the risk of creating a much bigger long-term health hazard through excessive exposure to a variety of disinfectants, all of which are registered pesticides. The development of chemical-resistant strains of viruses and bacteria nothwithstanding, we are both breathing in and absorbing through our skin an unprecedented amount of disinfecting compounds. Among them are:
Sodium hypochlorite (bleach)
Quaternary ammonium compounds (disinfectant cleaners, wipes, sprays)
Hydrogen peroxide combined with peracetic acid
Phenolics
Citric acid
Ozone
Iodophors
Alcohol (isopropyl and ethanol)
Other strong oxidizers

We need to perhaps use mechanical, non-chemical approaches to air scrubbing via heat, UVC, and filtration. If using a chemical then plain detergent-infused cleaners devastate the biofilm of bacteria.

Shortage of Clorox Disinfecting Wipes to persist the rest of the year.

Grocery shelves won't be fully stocked with Clorox's disinfecting wipes until next year, CEO Benno Dorer told Reuters, as the world's biggest cleaning products maker struggles with overwhelming pandemic-led demand for its top product.

Today is our 54th anniversary celebrating the opening of Von Kenric Brushes in 1966. The "Brushman" and "Brushlady" is what Dad and Mom became known as in their 40 years operating the business. Last month we lost Dad to old age, and it just won't be the same without him.

COVID-19 SupplyChain Disruption study by ISM.

Notably, nearly 75 percent of companies report supply chain disruptions in some capacity due to coronavirus-related transportation restrictions, and more than 80 percent believe that their organization will experience some impact because of COVID-19 disruptions. Of those, one in six (16%) companies report adjusting revenue targets downward an average of 5.6 percent due to the coronavirus.

Primary reported supply chain impacts include the following:

57 percent noted longer lead times for tier-1 China-sourced components, with average lead times more than doubling compared to the end of 2019.
Manufacturers in China report operating at 50 percent capacity with 56 percent of normal staff.
More than 44 percent of respondents do not have a plan in place to address supply disruption from China. Of those, a majority (23 percent of respondents) report current disruptions.
Of the companies expecting supply chain impacts, the severity anticipated increases after the first quarter of 2020.
Six in 10 (62%) respondents are experiencing delays in receiving orders from China.
More than half (53%) are having difficulty getting supply chain information from China.
Nearly one-half are experiencing delays moving goods within China (48%).
Almost one-half (46%) report delays loading goods at Chinese ports.

We are sometimes askedwhat we think of and if we carry Spin and Spin Floor Cleaner. We find Spin and Span Floor Cleaner to be a good cleaning solution for kitchen floors because it relies upon detergents coupled with high alkalinity, a pH of 12. However, we have found that high alkalinity (high pH) destroys the gloss on acrylic-based floor sealers used on kitchen quarry tiles. Instead we recommend using our Lemon Clean floor cleaner by Genlabs. The Genlabs Lemon Clean combines an effective combination of detergents and surfactants to quickly clean commercial kitchen floors and with a neutral pH that won’t harm the gloss on floor coatings. The cost-per-use is about the same for both products.

S**c and Span powdered cleaner is commonplace in commercial kitchens for degreasing floors. Many of these are sealed (coated) with an acrlyic type finish to make it shiny. However, it has sufficiently high alkalinity (pH 10-11) that the cleaner will quickly dull the gloss quickly. To maintain your sealer's gloss you should instead use a cleaner/degreaser with a more neutral pH (say, not higher than 8.5). A good neutral cleaner such as Lemon Clean can do as an effective job without the high pH.

This is a tragic incident of employees being poisoned by chlorine gas. In this case there may have been no way for the employee to know that an acid cleaner had been spilled on the floor prior to his cleaning task because the acid cleaner's residue was essentially invisible.

The key ingredient in any bleach cleaner is sodium hypochlorite, a strong oxidizer (very willing to give up electrons). The interaction with most any acid is swift.

As a rule if you use bleach in your cleaning regiment then avoid using acids of any type. So if you are cleaning with bleach then no cleaning with vinegar (which contains acetic acid).
