🎉 Big congratulations to BioMed Realty on earning the 2026 Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) Award in the Life Science category from BOMA San Francisco for the Gateway of the Pacific Research Campus!

This prestigious recognition celebrates excellence in building operations, sustainability, and tenant experience, and Gateway of the Pacific is a standout example of what’s possible in life science environments.

We are proud to have played a role in bringing this award-winning campus to life, providing acoustic consulting services across all five phases of development, beginning with phase one in 2016. From early site noise assessments addressing roadway and aircraft impacts, to developing curtainwall sound performance criteria and testing protocols, our team helped shape the building envelope for optimal acoustic performance. We also worked closely with Flad Architects and project partners to address mechanical noise and vibration, fine-tune room acoustics, and deliver effective sound isolation between spaces, supporting the high-performance needs of life science tenants.

We were proud to be among this year’s honorees and to take home two awards at the Structural Engineers Association of Washington (SEAW) Seattle Awards Banquet. The Lowell Observatory Constellation Structure won Special-Use Project of the Year, and the Lightwell Hotel won the People’s Choice Award. Thank you to SEAW for hosting a great event and congrats to all the projects recognized this year.
