Greetings All,
After 8 months & over 7,000 miles on the road since leaving Homer, we have landed in West Texas. Bought a small house on 100 acres, 30 or so miles northwest of Ozona. After the house is squared away, I will get the shop going again. The mobile shop idea didn’t work due to the restrictions of the Rv parks we stayed in…. Additionally, I am officially retired, and shutting down Highlands Forge as a busines. After spending an absurd amount of time doing my taxes this year (six schedules in addition to the 1040 & self employment tax, for a sole proprietor small business), it’s just not worth it anymore. Particularly when you see the waste, fraud & stupid $hit said taxes are wasted on….. Anyway, I will continue making knives & whatever interests me, as a hobby. I will still take commissioned work short of the income where I would become a “business“ again. Sucks, but that’s rigged system the worthless scum in DC have forced on us all. Best Regards, Bill
