Two knives, same steel, same handle wood, same maker. So why does one feel completely different in your hand?

The trick is in the ratio. On the 5.5 cm knife, the blade is short and the handle is long, 12 cm. On the 7.5 cm knife, it’s flipped: longer blade, shorter handle. Same materials, opposite proportions.

That reversal is what changes how each one cuts. The 5.5 cm gives more leverage per millimeter of edge, so it’s the one for figures, relief work, and lines where control matters more than speed. The 7.5 cm puts more edge in contact with the wood on every stroke, so it’s the one for spoons, chip carving, and clearing material fast.

Not a smaller and bigger version of the same knife. Two different tools built from the same steel.
