Parts Counter team member functions as an automotive parts professional who is able to assist all customers and team members in obtaining parts for automotive maintenance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists all customers (retail, shop, and outside sales representatives) in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner

Informs customers of part requirements and specials, ensuring the customer is exposed to our full product offerings

Answers phone calls, providing price quotes and other information

Pulls and fills orders from stock, maintaining parts inventory

Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention

Locates out-of-stock parts from outside source and submits an order if necessary

Notifies the customer when special ordered parts arrive

Follows up on back-ordered parts

Receives payment from retail customers or obtains credit authorization, obtaining customer signatures on all charge sales

Provides every customer with a copy of invoice

Issues credit for parts returned, ensuring that the original invoice, or its number, is available enabling verification of purchase and pricing

Maintains orderly records of all invoices, quotes, and special order parts

Coordinates orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up

Solicits assigned accounts by phone

Keeps front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered

Participates in maintaining a lost sales tracking program

Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, sometimes as much as 10 hours per shift

Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs
