R&R Manufacturing is looking to bring on an experienced CNC machinist to set up and run vertical mills, and assist in part programming and process improvement.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Set up & Operation of 3-Axis Vertical Mills (load tools and workholding, establish offsets/workshifts, run programs, etc.)
- Part inspection (perform first-articles, ensure that parts are machined within print tolerance)
- Additional operations (grind, tap, deburr, etc.)
Secondary Responsibilities include:
-Program/process improvement ( Suggest modifications to program/setup to increase tool life, limit waste and improve part quality)
- Training (train less experienced operators on proper setup, programming and inspection procedures)
Qualifications/Requirements:
- 2+ years CNC Mill experience required
- Ability to accurately measure/inspect parts within +/-.0005” (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, etc.)
- Programming: Must be able to make basic edits at the machine. Firm grasp of G&M code required. CAD/CAM experience encouraged (on the job training available)
- Controls: Must have experience with HAAS controls (Hurco, Fanuc, OmniTurn a plus)
- Firm grasp of speeds/feeds (primary materials: aluminum, mild/hardened steel, stainless, some plastics)
-General Machining: Must be able to read customer drawings and assess the most efficient means to machine a given part (proper tooling, number/order of ops, etc.)
-Setup/Operation: Must be familiar with and able to identify/implement best work-holding option based on the job (vises, fixtures, plates, etc.)
- Self-starters, able to work effectively and efficiently with positive attitude and minimal supervision
- Team player, able to collaborate with others and willing to assume other duties as assigned
- Dependability, must be reliable and maintain excellent attendance
While some larger orders can expected, production is generally high-mix / low volume. Candidates must be able to work efficiently and transition well from job to job with an emphasis on minimizing downtime.
