This week, we’re shining the spotlight on Ben Gullicks 🔦, a salesman at our Galesburg location who has spent 32 years working with John Deere!
Ben’s career started in Parts back in 1994. He was student of the first graduating class of the Parts Program at NDSCS, which kicked off a career that has now spanned more than three decades! He worked in Parts from 1994–2004 before eventually making the move into sales, where his years of experience and equipment knowledge continue to serve our customers today.
Outside of work, Ben stays plenty busy 👉 He enjoys hunting, ATV riding, gardening, farming and watching the NFR Rodeo. He’s also a 🍀 4-H Leader and 4-H Archery Instructor, giving him another opportunity to stay involved in agriculture and his community!
Family is a big part of Ben’s life as well. He says his dad has had the biggest impact on him, and one tradition that has stuck with his family is decorating the Christmas tree with his grandma’s handmade crocheted angel. 💚 Makes sense that Christmas is his favorite! Some of his favorite family time is spent watching PRCA Rodeo!
Something you might not know, is that Ben is 100% Norwegian! 🇳🇴 He has a German Wirehair named Daisy, enjoys cruising the North Dakota backroads, and if he could pick a dream ride, it would be a 1979 Ford Bronco. You’ll also likely find him listening to classic rock or country music, with John Denver’s "Thank God I’m a Country Boy " earning the spot as his theme song—a pretty fitting choice for someone who enjoys farming, rodeo and the outdoors! 🤠🎶
From starting his career in Parts to helping customers today in Sales, Ben has built a lot of knowledge, relationships and memories over the past 32 years. We’re proud to have him representing Valley Plains Equipment and appreciate everything he brings to our customers and our team! He's a kind, genuine soul who is always looking out for others! We're blessed to have him!
