Shipping, Receiving & Quality Control Manager
Job Overview
We’re looking for a hands-on Shipping, Receiving & QC Manager to run the flow of vehicles, cores, and parts in and out of our auto recycling yard. This role is on the ground every day — checking loads, inspecting parts, keeping inventory straight, and making sure only quality parts go out the door.
This position leads from the front, works alongside the crew, and keeps the yard running safely, efficiently, and profitably.
What You’ll Do
Shipping & Receiving
• Oversee inbound and outbound shipments of recycled auto parts, cores, and materials
• Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure correct parts, proper packaging, and secure loading
• Coordinate with freight carriers, drivers, and office staff
• Handle shipping mistakes, damages, shortages, and returns
Quality Control (QC)
• Make sure pulled parts meet company standards before they’re stocked or shipped
• Identify non-sellable or damaged parts and route them correctly (repair, core, scrap)
• Reduce returns and customer complaints by catching issues early
• Maintain basic QC documentation and inspection records
Inventory & Yard Organization
• Ensure parts are properly tagged, labeled, and stored
• Maintain clear organization of yard, racking, bins, and shipping areas
• Work closely with dismantlers and yard staff to track parts from pull to shipment
• Enforce safety procedures for forklifts, loaders, and yard equipment
• Step in to load trucks, inspect parts, or help the crew when needed
• Communicate issues clearly with management and sales teams
What We’re Looking For
Required
• High school diploma or GED
• Strong knowledge of auto parts, cores, and vehicle components
• Attention to detail and ability to make judgment calls on part quality
Preferred
• Forklift and/or heavy equipment experience
• Experience with inventory or yard management systems
• Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations in auto recycling
Physical Requirements
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Able to climb, bend, and work around vehicles and equipment
Why This Role Matters
This role protects the yard’s reputation and bottom line. Good QC keeps returns down, accurate shipping keeps customers happy, and solid leadership keeps the yard running safely and efficiently.
