Happy Friday!!

Here’s a peek at Andare Residences. 🏗️

From the active deck to the growing Fort Lauderdale skyline, Andare continues to take shape one level at a time.

With Level 20 next on the schedule, PTE continues supporting the project with post-tension materials and coordinated deliveries as construction moves steadily upward.

710,746 SF. 46 floors. And still rising.

Great progress by the entire project team, including our partners at Valben.

A special thank you to the DeSimone Consulting Engineering team for spending time with us at our Miami facility for a behind-the-scenes tour of our operations followed by a PTE University Lunch & Learn focused on adaptive repurposing post-tensioning.

The visit gave us the opportunity to connect engineering and field ex*****on, from how post-tensioning materials are fabricated and prepared for delivery.

These conversations are valuable because some of the best solutions happen when engineers, suppliers, and construction professionals share knowledge and understand each other's side of the process.

Collaboration like this strengthens relationships, expands perspective, and ultimately helps move our industry forward.

STRESSED FOR SUCCESS

Barrier cable systems are designed to do more than create a physical barrier- they rely on properly stressed high steel strand to perform as intended.
Here our field team is actively stressing a barrier cable system, applying the specified force to establish the required tension within each cable.
From installation and stressing to inspection, replacement or repair, proper ex*****on at every stage matters to the long-term performance of the system.

P.S Pressure is part of the process, its what we do with it that determines the outcome

Engineering Strength from the Core Out.

While much of the attention is focused on the tower's distinctive architecture, the true strength of Bentley Residences begins at its core.

The extensive reinforcement shown here will become the building's structural spine—designed to transfer enormous vertical and lateral loads while providing the rigidity required for a 716-foot-high residential tower overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

This level of reinforcement represents thousands of carefully detailed and inspected connections working together to create a structure engineered for strength, durability, and long-term performance.

As construction advances, every phase reflects the precision and coordination required to bring one of South Florida's most recognizable residential towers to life.

Construction Progress: PTE is currently supplying post-tensioning materials through Level 14, with Level 15 deliveries scheduled to begin next week, supporting the continued advancement of Bentley Residences.

âś… The Answer: B. Wedge

While small in size, wedges are one of the most critical components in a post-tensioning system.

Their job is to grip the prestressing strand inside the anchorage assembly. As the strand is stressed, the wedges seat into the tapered anchor and securely lock onto the strand, allowing the prestressing force to be transferred safely into the concrete.

Without properly functioning wedges, the post-tensioning force cannot be effectively anchored, making them essential to the performance of the entire system.

At PTE, we know that every component—no matter how small—plays an important role in delivering safe, reliable, and high-performing structures.

Can you identify this post-tensioning component?

Some of the smallest components in a post-tensioning system play one of the most critical roles in structural performance. This component grips the prestressing strand and is essential to the anchorage system, do you know what it's called?

A. Anchor Plate
B. Wedge
C. Trumpet
D. Pocket Former

💬 What's your answer? Leave your guess in the comments, and we'll reveal the correct answer on Wednesday and explain why this small component plays such a critical role—in our next PTE Explains post.

Not every important decision happens behind a desk.

When unexpected field conditions require immediate evaluation, the best outcomes come from collaboration between the contractor, engineer, and specialty post-tension team.

Recently at Bentley Residences, PTE worked alongside Baker Construction, the Engineer of Record, and our in-house engineer, Dr. Siva, during an onsite evaluation of a post-tension tendon issue. Together, the team assessed the condition, developed the appropriate repair strategy, and ensured the work could proceed safely and in accordance with the project requirements.

Complex structures demand more than quality materials, they require experienced professionals working together to solve challenges in real time.

PTE Explains: Elongations -The correct answer is A.

PT crews measure and record tendon elongations to compare the actual measured extension with the calculated elongation and confirm that the required force was transferred to the tendon during stressing.

This comparison is an important quality-control check. When measured elongations fall outside the acceptable range, the results must be reviewed to identify possible causes before the stressing operation is accepted.

Elongation records do more than document the work—they help confirm that the post-tensioning system is performing as intended.

Why are tendon elongations measured and recorded?

Every post-tensioned tendon is stressed according to engineered calculations. But why is its elongation measured and documented in the field?

What do you think?

A. To verify the required prestressing force has been achieved.

B. To determine when the concrete has fully cured.

C. To verify reinforcing steel spacing.

D. To calculate the slab thickness.

Share your answer in the comments! We'll reveal the correct response, Thursday, on our next PTE Explains post.
