Our Eric Mongelli led this year's ATCS Early Career Coaching Program cohort on a bike tour through multimodal projects in Arlington, Va., including several projects from his own portfolio.

Experiences like this help new engineers, designers, inspectors, and other staff see how projects improve the communities where we work and live. 🚲🌳

These kiddos were back at school today, but likely still talking about their day with ATCS for Bring Your Kid To Work Day 2026. Perhaps we'll see them back working on-site and in-office in 15 years!

ATCS has been supporting National Work Zone Awareness Week across our offices, projects, and client sites this week. Our teams in the field and in-office joined our agency and construction partners on Wednesday for Go Orange Day, wearing orange as a reminder for drivers to use extra caution in work zones.

This year's theme — Safe Actions Save Lives — says it all. Slow down, put the phone down, and give crews the space they need. Small decisions behind the wheel make a real difference for the people working just feet from live traffic.

Loudoun County’s Ashburn Senior Center delivered a LEED-certified, 15,000-square-foot community space that supports active living and programming for older adults. The facility includes fitness areas, a gymnasium, multipurpose rooms, and classrooms that extend into outdoor activity spaces.

ATCS supported the County through its on-call construction management and inspection contract, providing daily field oversight, materials testing, documentation, and coordination to help maintain quality and steady progress throughout construction.

ATCS recently presented a preliminary engineering study for the Coalfields Expressway (CFX), developed in partnership with the Virginia Coalfields Expressway Authority and the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The study outlines how completing the CFX could:
• Cut travel times by up to 40%
• Improve freight access and reliability
• Support economic transition beyond coal
• Enhance regional mobility and emergency response
• Identify diverse pathways to fund remaining segments

We appreciate the opportunity to support the Authority and VDOT in evaluating the corridor’s potential to strengthen transportation and economic connectivity in Southwest Virginia.

Last month, we reached an important milestone on the Sheepford Road Bridge restoration project. The 138-year-old bridge was carefully lifted from its original setting over Yellow Breeches Creek in Fairview Township, disassembled, and transported to York for repair.

Next spring, it will be reassembled and placed back in its original location, beginning its next chapter as a pedestrian bridge.
