Did you know that for a 100ft x 100ft (30m x 30xm) substation, Remote Earth for the Fall-of-Potential test will require a stretch of open raw land and a probe be installed 1,410 ft (430m) away from the substation?

Did you know that the "Fall-of-Potential" method requires that the grounding system under test be completely isolated from all other metal objects so that 100% of the injected test signal propagates through the earth/soil?

SciTechDaily reports on the surprising discovery of new observations from a retrofitted U2 spy plane that reveal gamma radiation is produced in large tropical thunderstorms.

A retrofitted U2 spy plane owned by NASA flew over storms and revealed that these gamma rays are common in thunderstorms, manifesting in various forms and linked to the electrical activity within the storms

The radiation is not cause for concern however, as the amount of radiation being produced would only be dangerous if a person or object were quite close to the origination source.

Circuit breakers are electrical safety mechanisms, designed to protect an electrical circuit from either:

- Short-Circuiting
When too much current is passing through due to faulty wiring.
- Overloading
When too many devices are connected to the circuit, meaning the amount of current being pulled through is too high.
- Ground Faults
When there is too much moisture surrounding the circuit.

But do all power strips have a circuit breaker? Read more in the article by Tech Penny at this link: https://techpenny.com/power-strips-have-circuit-breakers/

A weather enthusiast in San Jose was recording storm activity earlier this year and caught the exact moment a plane was struck by lightning. The plane continues on as usual. Watch the clip here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3gRKAi_GJs

How would you react if you were on this plane?
