According to CDC data, employees in the construction industry face a higher risk of su***de than those in many other occupations.

That’s why the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention (AFSP) launched Hard Hat Courage—an initiative focused on saving lives by equipping construction professionals and companies with tools to support mental health and look out for one another.

We’re proud to share that members of our team recently participated in the Maine Construction Hike for Hope, supporting AFSP’s mission. Team members joined the events in both Bangor and Westbrook, coming together to raise funds and show support for mental health awareness in our industry.

The Hike for Hope is a powerful reminder of the importance of talking openly about mental health, and we’re grateful to have team members who are willing to step up and be part of that conversation.

Looking for a new career opportunity? We’re currently hiring for an entry-level Materials Testing Technician in our Gray, Maine office.

No experience is required. We’ll train you—and pay you while you learn. Most days, you’ll travel to construction sites and perform field testing on materials such as concrete, soil, aggregate, asphalt, grout, mortar, and steel.

We provide hands‑on training and job experience to help you build your skills, earn industry‑specific certifications, and grow your expertise. If you have experience with construction materials testing and are looking to work in a collaborative team environment with opportunities for growth, we’re currently hiring an experienced Laboratory Technician at our White River Junction, Vermont office.

As a Laboratory Technician, you’ll work both in the laboratory and in the field, performing construction materials testing on soil, concrete, masonry, asphalt, aggregate, and other materials associated with a variety of construction projects. You’ll also report test results, help maintain and organize the laboratory, visit field projects, and pick up samples from clients and project sites.

We support our team’s professional development by providing training and helping team members pursue industry certifications. Prior experience and valid certifications or licenses are required, such as ACI Concrete Testing Grade I, NETTCP, and/or ICC General Requirements and Special Inspections.

Our team provides field and laboratory concrete testing services to help document conformance with project specifications.

Our technicians perform testing on fresh concrete during placement to document properties such as slump, air content, and temperature. Fresh concrete is collected on site and cast into cylinder molds, which are later used for laboratory compressive strength testing.

Our field technicians are recognized for their dependability, experience, and technical knowledge. Certification as an ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I is part of that foundation.
