🌟 A Space Built for Wonder, Learning, and Community 🌟

We are thrilled to highlight the newly completed Henderson Collegiate Multipurpose Center, a 33,000 square foot space designed to uplift, energize, and empower students every single day. 🏫✨

This new facility features a combined gymnasium and auditorium, a fully equipped dance studio, a dedicated band room, and a bright, spacious main lobby that welcomes students and families with pride. Each space was thoughtfully crafted to support creativity, movement, and community connection. Our Henderson Team is proud to stand behind the engineering that makes this building function seamlessly.

Thoughtful Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical, and Fire Alarm design is what ensures that environments like this stay safe, efficient, and ready to serve students for years to come.

During our recent tour of the space, we saw firsthand how this new center is already transforming student life. From energetic basketball games to immersive learning experiences to vibrant Parent Pride Night events, the center has quickly become a place filled with unity, celebration, and school spirit. 💙🏀

A huge shoutout to Chris Lawson (pictured) for leading the PME and Fire Alarm design efforts. His dedication and expertise helped bring this vision into reality, and we could not be prouder.

👋 Meet Our Newest Henderson Region Stratus Team Member, Jacob Dresbach! 👋

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Jacob Dresbach, one of the newest members on the Henderson region team. Jacob joined us last month as a Design Engineer I, and we are thrilled to have him bringing fresh talent, curiosity, and passion to our growing team. As part of the Stratus Team, we are excited to see the impact he will make across our organization. 💡

Here is a quick Q&A to help you get to know him better: 💬

🎓 Tell us a little about your background: "I recently graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and I am a certified EI in North Carolina. I am originally from Rochester, NY and excited to begin my engineering career with the Stratus Team."

💭 What inspired you to join the Stratus Team: "Throughout the hiring process, everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I felt a real connection here that I did not experience elsewhere. I was also drawn to the flexibility and variety of work, including the chance to learn across multiple trades rather than being limited to one discipline."

🚀 Henderson’s Future Just Broke Ground! 🚀

We’re back on your feed and coming in strong with something BIG! Yesterday, members of our Kilian Engineering team joined an incredible crowd for the groundbreaking of the new Henderson Family YMCA — a project overflowing with community pride and excitement! 💙

This future 60,000+ sq. ft. hub will feature open gyms, an indoor pool, wellness facilities, and vibrant spaces for neighbors to connect. But behind every amazing building is a network of systems that make it all work — and that’s where we come in. ⚙️✨

Kilian Engineering is proud to lead the Plumbing, Mechanical, and Electrical (PME) designs for this transformative project. These systems are the quiet heroes that keep spaces comfortable, safe, efficient, and ready to serve the community day after day.

A huge applause for Chris Lawson (pictured) for guiding the PME design process, and for Chris Lumpkin and Richard Bobbitt, whose expertise helped strengthen every layer of this project. 👏🔥

A strong community deserves strong engineering — and we’re honored to do our part. 🌟

🎉💙 Last Friday, we celebrated a very special member of our Kilian family—our Administrative Lead, Kathy Taylor—on her retirement!

For more than five years, Kathy had been the heart of our office operations. From sealing plans, to being our internal plotter wiz, to making sure every detail behind the scenes ran smoothly—she truly was our office superhero. 🦸‍♀️✨

Kathy’s hard work, dedication, and kind spirit touched every part of our company, and we are already feeling the impact of her absence. While we will miss her dearly, we are so excited for her as she begins this new and well-deserved chapter of life. 🌿☀️

Please join us in wishing Kathy a fabulous retirement filled with joy, rest, and new adventures! Thank you, Kathy, for everything you have poured into Kilian Engineering—you’ll always be part of our family. 💐

Functional + Efficient Design Solutions

Happy Tuesday from your friends at Kilian! Here is a fun fact to start off your day! 😉

💡 Fun Fact: MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems are often called “the lifeblood of a building”—together, they make up about 30–40% of a building’s total construction cost and are critical to its comfort, safety, and efficiency.

From the air you breathe, to the lights you switch on, to the water you drink—MEP systems keep buildings alive and thriving. At Kilian Engineering, we design the unseen systems that make every space functional, comfortable, and safe. Because great buildings aren’t just built—they’re engineered to live. ⚙️💡🚿
