The new rake !

05/30/2026

My own opinion is that the 3rd Gen is still the better looking Rake but let me know what yall think good or bad. I said in the video that I built it but in reality I just designed it and Reno Saenz built it.

Picture for context ! Well we have to build our first excavator thumb very soon. We have had several calls for them over the years but have never had any experience whatsoever with them till now.

The new Skidsteer Rake should be done tomorrow then we’ll get it painted up since it’s the first one. I’m not 100% sure how I feel about it just yet, it’s nice, strong and will work good. I’m just not sure it looks as attractive and robust as the current 3rd gen, I just wanted to have a different option for customers to choose from. While it may not be the hit that our current rake was and is I expect we’ll sell a few of them. That being said it has already proven to be easier to build with less parts to keep track of so that’s good.

Ya knows you always hear about how you can’t trust a mechanic? I have found this to be a very true statement in our area, but NEVER by this guy here. I have two mechanics and both guys I’d trust with my life one being Mario Benavides for maintenance and smaller jobs and the other being this guy here Victor Lozano for bigger more difficult jobs . Both Mario and Victor are the epitome of honest hard working men and both good friends. I recently took my suburban to Victor for a pretty extensive job that turned into kind of a nightmare. A kind of big but simple job turned into a much bigger not so simple job that came with some unexpected challenges and delays. While we needed our car I knew that Victor and Eric were the only people I’d ever trust to get it done right. When they finally got it done yesterday it was a thing of beauty , the engine looked brand new , they had completely cleaned it, test drove it for hours and were spending lots of time checking for leaks and problems on the scanner. I was beyond happy with it as always and I could see the relief all over Victors face that it was done , the joke was that anytime I call now he won’t answer me haha. Victor has grown a hell of a business and local following that he grew from nothing.

Another round of heavy rain came ripping through last night , South Texas ranchers are sure looking good right now. Their ponds are full and the grass is tall something we aren’t used to. There for several years the poor cattle thought they died and went to hell but now they are in the garden of Eden.

I cut out parts today for a new Skidsteer Rake, not a 4th Gen but a different style entirely. We’ll see how it looks when done then see if we want to offer it or not.

My last little baby goes on to high school this year. I have been in a posting slump lately, between Ava graduating and now Sissy being in HS it’s all too much for me. I am a little kid dad that still hasn’t learned how to be a big kid dad, I don’t like it but it is what it is.
