Yesterday, we spent part of the day at Hawley High School talking with students about careers in the skilled trades.

It was inspiring to meet so many students who are already passionate about becoming welders, framers, heavy equipment operators, and diesel mechanics. The level of curiosity, excitement, and eagerness to learn was incredible to see.

As a business located just a block away from Hawley High School, it was especially meaningful to connect with students in our own backyard and be part of an event that brings industry directly into the school day.

One of the most rewarding parts of the day was hearing from students who were curious about the many different paths into the construction industry. Several young women stopped by our booth to ask questions about careers in construction, leadership opportunities, and what it’s like to work in the industry. It was encouraging to see so much interest from the next generation of women entering the trades.

We are proud to partner with Hawley ISD and appreciate their efforts to create opportunities like this that help students explore meaningful career paths early on. The future of the trades is bright, and we are excited to see some of these students out in the field one day. 👏

From demolition to finish, we completed framing, drywall, acoustical ceilings, paint, doors, and hardware to help bring this space to life.

What started as a vision of our President/CEO, Eddie Alvarez, has grown through the commitment of our family, our crews, and the community that has supported us along the way.

Yesterday marked an exciting milestone as we joined the groundbreaking ceremony for the newest project at the Abilene Zoo. 🦁🦒🦏

We are honored to continue our legacy of building at the Zoo as part of this transformational master plan project. Over the years, we’ve been fortunate to contribute to several meaningful projects, including the Madagascar Campaign, Giraffe Safari Campaign, the new Vet Hospital, Maintenance Shop, and Bird Rehab Facility.

This next phase represents another step forward in expanding the zoo’s footprint and impact in our community.

The project is being constructed under the leadership of the The Crowe Group, Inc., and designed by the talented team at Parkhill, Smith & Cooper, Inc., this project brings together many local contractors, showcasing the strength of building with teams who are invested in West Texas.

Our team is proud to provide metal stud framing, acoustical ceilings, wood accent ceiling, and specialty wall systems as we help bring this vision to life.

The Alvarez Drywall team takes great pride in supporting a place that means so much to our community, and we’re excited to help build what comes next.

🐏 Angelo State University │ Mayer Museum 🐏

We are proud to have been part of the Angelo State University Mayer Museum project, working alongside Waldrop Construction as the General Contractor.

Our team completed the metal stud framing, drywall installation, acoustical ceiling system, and linear metal ceilings. The new West and South additions to the museum will welcome tens of thousands of visitors of all ages who come to explore exhibits and participate in educational programs and lectures.

A special shoutout to our San Angelo team for spearheading this project and delivering quality work on a space that serves the community and ASU campus so well.

📍The Mayer Museum at Angelo State University is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Stop by to visit the museum and admire the finished spaces!
