Case Study Monday!

Rapat was chosen to design and build enclosed belt conveyors to transfer resin-coated hydraulic fracturing sand from railcars for processing and then onto storage silos. The enclosed system was engineered to limit emissions and also withstand the extreme weather conditions in Louisiana. Rapat placed the conveyors on structural steel box trusses with single-sided walkways. Rapat worked closely with the customer to understand their needs and proceeded to develop sloped bottom covers, which allow for easy access for clean-out and maintenance from the walkways.

Case Study Monday!

When a leading bulk storage and material handling system company needed advanced process equipment for a new frac sand transload facility in North Dakota, they relied on Rapat’s industry experience to design and build the integrated convey system. Implementing special design considerations for the abrasive frac sand, Rapat supplied a distributor, bucket elevator, stair tower, enclosed conveyors and support structures. Most components were factory assembled in Rapat’s state- of-the-art Hawley, Minnesota, facility to speed up field installation during cold winter months.
