Role Requirements:

A minimum of two years of heavy industrial journeyman experience. Technical training may be considered as experience if applicable.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to pass Electrical Technician test
Must have a working knowledge of PLC logic controls
A current Kentucky Journeyman Electrician License is preferred
HVAC experience is preferred
Must be safety conscious and willing to work various shift schedules and overtime.

Job Description:

This position must promote and advance the Century Business Philosophy and values using proven engineering principles, techniques, and sound judgment. This position requires good management techniques of time, materials, manpower, and available resources to achieve success. The engineer must also hold paramount the safety, health, and welfare of all team members at Century Aluminum.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
* 8+ years experience in the
Engineering/Reliability field
* Experience in a heavy industrial setting
preferred
* Strong leadership, organization, and
technical skills.
* Effective written, verbal, and
interpersonal communication skills
* Proficient with computers, computer software, and other available tools which improve quality and productivity

Roles and Responsibilities:

* Work with Project Engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations. Participate in the development of design and installation specifications along with commissioning plans. Participates in the development of criteria for an evaluation of equipment and technical MRO suppliers and technical maintenance service providers. Develops acceptance tests and inspection criteria.
* Participate in the final check-out of new installations. This includes factory and site acceptance testing that will assure adherence to functional specifications.
* Guide efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems.
* Provide input to a Risk Management Plan that will anticipate reliability-related and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely affect plant operation.
* Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations
** Data analysis techniques Statistical Process Control, Reliability modeling and prediction, Fault Tree Analysis, and Root-Cause Analysis (RCA, RCFA)
* Provide technical support to production, maintenance management, and technical personnel.
* Apply value analysis to repair/replace, repair/redesign, and make/buy decisions.
