"Stihl The One"
This Stihl MS170 chainsaw was dropped off with a bogging issue by a family member of its owner.

After a good inspection, the reasons behind its condition were made apparent.
The spark plug was fouled. The air filter was missing (which lead to a more serious problem). When the carburetor was disassembled there were pieces of saw dust inside the metering chamber (caused by the previous). The spark plug boot was torn. Finally, the spark arrester was caked with carbon and unburned oil.

Following a thorough bath in degreaser, the carb was cleaned and overhauled, a new spark plug, spark plug boot, and spark plug terminal fitted, a new air filter installed, and the spark arrester cleaned and reinstalled.

After topping off the chain oil and 50:1 fuel mix, the saw roared to life with minimal effort and screamed to high speed very quickly!

Hopefully she's "Stihl The One" once she's back home!

Always a blessing to help out family! My aunty's pressure washer was spared from the scrap barrel after the relief valve on the pump got damaged. The replacement pump finally arrived today and after securing a few bolts, she's back in action! came through with the replacement pump! Check them out! They carry a ton of OEM parts and they're also a great source for parts diagrams and other useful information! Mahalo, !

This Echo WP-1000 mini water pump is on the bench this week. Its carburetor had a bad metering diaphragm which prevented it from running. It came in with a new air filter and relatively new spark plug installed by the owner so I only had to change the fuel filter and fuel hoses. The powerhead is now running and I'll post an update once the whole machine is reassembled (I need to replace a bunch of corroded fasteners and the hardware store was closed today) hopefully tomorrow! @ North Shore Mower Co.

The vacuum cleaner simulates a running engine. The slide is held down under spring pressure. As the throttle plate opens, the air rushing past the throttle plate creates a vacuum behind the slide's diaphragm (located under the red cover in the last post) thereby pulling the slide up. Seems this carb is functioning as intended!
