A CONVEYOR OPERATOR is a skilled machine operator typically working on construction job sites. While it is like a dump truck, instead of leaving gravel in heap, a conveyor has the ability to place material precisely, reducing the need for extra labor or machines. Driving to and from a gravel pit is a large part of this job but is broke up by unloading of material on the jobsite. Operators come in all sizes and shapes; there is no one type of operator. The best ones are calm and thoughtful as opposed to nervous and excitable. They can communicate well with others and like to work outdoors and have an infinite variety in their workdays. They are easy to get along with, and conscious of the effects their actions have on other workers. Common sense is more important than book learning, and a positive attitude carries a lot of weight.
