Today is Professional Engineers Day!

Read why Matthew Tusing from Penn E&R became an engineer:

I became an engineer because I wanted to follow in my father’s footsteps. Strong math and critical thinking skills run in my family, so I knew from a very young age that this was the ideal career for me to pursue. Obtaining my PE license in 2019 was the culmination of over two decades of education and on-the-job work experience, as well as many nights spent studying and preparing for the exam. For many engineers, I think obtaining a PE license represents one of their greatest professional achievements, and I think it’s an important milestone to recognize. My most memorable career achievement was the first thing I stamped as a PE, which was a simple metering plan for a water withdrawal facility. Other achievements may have had more significance/importance in the context of my career, but I will never forget the feeling of responsibility that accompanied my first actions as a PE.
